Abstract

educational resources during an infectious disease pandemic. This study analysed the effect of a tele-educational intervention on birth preparedness and food safety knowledge related to infectious diseases among pregnant women.

Methods: This quasi-experimental study involved two groups of participants who received either tele-education (n = 39) or digital booklets (n = 39); both groups received routine pregnancy care. The chi-square test, an independent t-test, and a general equation model were used.

Results: Birth preparedness and food safety knowledge improved significantly after two weeks in both groups. The differences in birth preparedness and food safety knowledge between the groups after two weeks and four weeks were statistically significant (p < 0.001).

Conclusions: A four-week tele-education intervention could effectively improve birth preparedness and food safety knowledge related to infectious diseases among pregnant women.
